Designed to be an expressive touch interface for musical performance. Sequencer, clip bank, piano roll, dual-manual performance surface, circle-of-fifths instrument, and a mixer that hosts third-party AUv3 generators and effects. With more features coming soon. Sessions, in harmony
BANK
MIDI clip library with folders for easy access to your favorite sequences. Drag a clip onto the pattern bar to use it in your project. Import/export bank files separate from project, great for archiving and community sharing
ROLL
Piano roll with draw / box / drag, snap, velocity and per-note probability, CC1 / pitch-bend lanes. Song loop is bars × time signature; clip length is STEPS.
PERF
Upper and lower surfaces, each independently keys, XY, knobs, or faders — dest, channel (Ø = off), scale, and a PM / VV left rail. Customizable, to be tailored to your needs.
HARM
One or two circles of fifths. Each circle has its own dest, channel, layout, rings, and held notes.
MIX
Standalone only, w/ Audio Engine On. Load App Store AUv3 generators and effects. UI expands under the mixer row (no floating window). Mix keys, pitch, and mod go only to the expanded plug-in.
What it actually does
Pattern bar
Always on. Play / stop, SEQ vs PAT (grid vs selected clip — also drives the roll). Consider this the project wallet, and the sequencer is the table. Pull your clips from the bank and load your wallet, distribute to the table from there. Clock button pops a cluster contains time signature, song loop in bars, metronome.
MIDI. Not a toy, but fun to play.
Input port + In CH (Ø / Omni / 1–16), thru, internal or external clock, panic. Dest and channel are per surface — no master Out CH. Console shows the surface that spoke. Background audio keeps sending when you leave. Everything works so you can lock into the flow. Panic button available if all else fails.
AUv3 both ways
Standalone hosts third-party AUv3 generators and effects (MIX). Inside AUM / Logic, epicMIDI is a MIDI processor only (aumi) — it sequences, it does not nest-host or render a synth. MIDI leaves through the host’s event block.
Files
Project, bank (clips + folders), clip SMF, and Type 1 project SMF (one track per pattern). Type 1 import splits to clips. Export bakes transpose.
Engine Off / Dummy / On
Off = pure MIDI (dummy synth does not run). Dummy = onboard sine. On = AUv3 host + MIX — standalone only. Inside another host, On is refused; you stay Off / Dummy.
Built for fingers
Pinch-zoom the roll, paint velocity, hold chords on the circle, glissando the manuals. No mouse required.
